RateJet imports weight-by-country shipping rates from an Excel file straight into your store's General delivery profile, so you never have to build shipping zones by hand.

1. Install RateJet from the Shopify App Store.
2. Choose a plan when prompted — billing is handled by Shopify (see Billing & plans).
3. On the app's Dashboard, follow the Set up RateJet guide: optionally configure a fuel surcharge, then import your rate sheet. The guide tracks your progress and disappears once your rates are imported.

RateJet reads a single worksheet where the first row is a header and each following row is a weight bracket. The columns are:

• S.No — a row number (used for ordering only).
• Weight — the upper weight for the bracket, in your store's weight unit (for example 0.5, 1, 2).
• One column per destination country, with the header set to the country's name (for example United States, Germany). Each cell holds the price for that country at that weight.

The fastest way to get the format right is to open the Import rates page and click Download sample Excel, then replace the sample prices with your own.

Accepted formats are .xlsx and .xls, up to 4 MB. Only the first worksheet is read.

1. Open the Import rates page.
2. (Optional) Download the sample template and fill in your rates.
3. Drag your Excel file into the upload area, or browse for it.
4. Click Sync. RateJet parses the sheet, groups countries into zones, and writes them to your General profile.

When the sync finishes you'll see how many zones were created, and a note about any countries that were skipped because their names weren't recognized.

Countries that share the exact same set of prices across every weight bracket are automatically combined into a single shipping zone. This keeps your Shopify shipping settings tidy instead of creating one zone per country.

Each weight row becomes a weight-based shipping method with non-overlapping brackets, so a given order's weight always matches exactly one rate.

A fuel surcharge marks every rate up as it's imported. On the Fuel surcharge page you can set:

• A percentage of the base rate, and/or
• A fixed amount added per shipment.

The formula is base × (1 + percentage/100) + fixed. For example, a $10.00 base rate with a 10% + $2.50 surcharge syncs as $13.50.

The surcharge is baked into the rates at import time, so changing it requires re-importing your sheet for the new values to take effect.

Your rate sheet is the source of truth. Each import replaces the international zones in your General profile with the rows in your file. Your Local zone is always kept untouched.

To change prices, edit your Excel file and import it again — there is no need to delete anything manually.

Rates are pushed in USD exactly as entered in your sheet — RateJet does not convert currencies. On multi-currency stores using Shopify Markets, Shopify converts the price to each buyer's local currency at checkout using live exchange rates.

Some countries were skipped

A country column is skipped when its header doesn't match a recognized country name. Check the spelling against the country's common English name (for example use United States, not USA), fix the header, and re-import.

"File is too large"

Uploads are capped at 4 MB. Split a very large sheet into parts and import them one at a time.

"General profile not found"

RateJet writes to your store's default delivery profile. If you see this error, make sure shipping is set up under Settings → Shipping and delivery in your Shopify admin, then try again.

RateJet uses Shopify's billing, so charges appear directly on your Shopify invoice. The Pro plan is $10/month or $110/year and includes a 3-day free trial. You can review or change your plan on the Plan page inside the app, and cancel any time by uninstalling.
