RateJet Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 14, 2026
RateJet ("the app") helps Shopify merchants import shipping rates from Excel files into their store's delivery profiles. This policy describes what information the app collects, how it is used, and the choices merchants have.
Information the app collects
When you install the app, it stores:
- Your store's
.myshopify.comdomain and the API access token Shopify issues to the app, used solely to read and update your store's shipping settings. - The fuel surcharge settings you configure in the app (enabled state, fixed amount, and percentage).
Rate sheets you upload are processed to update your delivery profiles and are not retained after the import completes.
The app does not collect, store, or process any personal data about your customers. It does not access customer, order, or checkout information.
How information is used
Stored information is used only to operate the app: authenticating your store, reading your delivery profiles, and writing the shipping rates you import. It is never sold, shared with third parties for marketing, or used for any purpose unrelated to the app's functionality.
Data storage and security
Data is stored in a managed PostgreSQL database and transmitted only over encrypted (HTTPS/TLS) connections. The app runs on Vercel and uses Neon for database hosting; these providers process data on our behalf as infrastructure providers.
Data retention and deletion
When you uninstall the app, your access token is deleted. Shopify also sends the app a mandatory shop/redact request 48 hours after uninstall, at which point all remaining data for your store — including fuel surcharge settings — is permanently deleted. The app honors all of Shopify's mandatory privacy webhooks (customers/data_request, customers/redact, and shop/redact).
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a revised effective date.
